This year election is the 16th Presidential election in the Philippines since 1935 and the sixth sextennial presidential election since 1986. Philippine general election 2016 as Filipinos will elect various officials for available positions in the Senate, House of Representatives and local government units in cities and municipalities, including the positions for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The aspirants for this year Philippine Presidential Election 2016 are Vice President Jejomar Binay, Davao City Rodrigo Duterte, Sen. Grace Poe, former DILG Sec. Mar Roxas and Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago. Meanwhile, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Sen. Gringo Honasan, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Sen. Bongbong Marcos and CongressWoman Leni Robredo are running as vice president.
